The Mall Galleries - London

Rupert's Painting Broken Silence was selected from 1000 entries for this years show. This was the sixth successive year that his work has been exhibited at the society which is a rival to the national portrait gallery's BP Portrait Award. The show hosts commissioned portraits of celebrities and major public figures completed throughout the year by members of the society as well as outstanding work by non members selected through open submission.

Cream of the Westcountry

ITV Westcountry news reporter Bob Cruwys invited Rupert to contribute to a news feature called 'Hidden Gems in the Westcountry'. Bob's chosen gem was Tarr Steps, an ancient stone clapper bridge in an idyllic location on Exmoor. Rupert and Bob spent a fine summer's day outside painting and filming and the feature was aired in the summer of 2008. Painting Tarr Steps
