A portrait's progressionStage 3 Staining inThe next stage of the painting was the staining in. This involved a thin application of oil paint to try and get rid of some of the large areas of white canvas. I loosely blocked in the skin tones, hair and clothes, all the time gauging and adjusting to match the drawing and the paint with the reality. |
